MISS HARRIET GORDON'S ENTERTAINMENT.
This accomplished Actress, and justly termed "Queen of Song," hats been delighting fashionable audiences during the week in her elegant representations of comedy ind varied selections of music, ii» fact, the ease with which the most difficult opeartic piece and homely ballad is performed is really astonishing. We were especially pleased ort Wednesday evening with the brilliant execution of the air "Ah Che La Morte" from Verdi's Opera, " Trovatore," and equally so in melange of the three kingdoms severally represented by the songs "Home, sweet Home,". "The Irish Emigrant," and " Scots' wha hae," which alone was worth a visit ; and, when taken in connection with the very excellent and amusing acting of Miss Gordon and Mr. J. P. Hyde, forms a treat of no ordinary description, and which has seldom or ever been laid before the inhabitants of Invercargiil. We observe that these talented performers will continue their representation during the present week, to-night being announced as a fashionable night.- % - m
