SALE OF THE QUEEN’S STUD.
The whole of the Queen’s stud at Hampton Court was sold by auction on 30th June. Twenty-eight yearlings fetched 5,640 guineas; the highest price, 1,050 guineas, was for a filly a Bend .Or, out of Luciennes. Forty-five brood mares and foals realised 17,080 guineas. Sir Blundell Maple gave 1000 guineas for Recovery, Sir T. Miller 2000 guineas for Sanda, and Baron Hirsch 4,600 guineas for Wedlock.
