The J. Cf. Ward Farmers Association of New Zealand Limited, report having held their fortnightly stock sale at the Invercargill yards on Tuesday. The entry in fat cattle was a very heavy one, and included several pens of good quality; the others were only medium and bare. The demand for best was brisk, and prices ruled from L 9 12s 6d to L 8 for best bullocks and cows; bullocks, mixed heavy weights, up to L 9 2s 6d ; medium cows and heifers, L7to L 6 ss. At these prices we cleared our entry. Store Cattle —Only a small entry, with little demand, except for dairy heifers close to calving; these we scld at L 3 10s to L 5. Sheep—There was a good entry of fat sheep of all grades, but the demand was only limited after a few pens were sold. Best heavy weights, ewes and wethers, brought IBs lOd to IBs 8d; medium light ewes, 9s to 10s 6d; ewes in lamb and without teeth, 4s to 5s 8d; hoggets, 6s to 7s 6d —no good sorts forward. Horse Market —On Saturday we had a very heavy entry, including a number from the Oamaru district. The demand was only limited, and except for best young draughts, which reached LlB to L 24, prices were dull, the medium class being much neglected. We expect a better demand for hacks and light harness sorts as the season advances.
