AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.
The National Mortgage and Agency Co. Ltd..report as follows of the Invercargill, market of the 7th inst.: — Fat Cattle —80 head yarded, all qualities, but only a small proportion prime, the balance being fairly good bullocks and a large number of poor quality cows. For best quality the demand was good, but inferior were hard to quit even at low prices. Best prime bullocks brought L 8 10s to L 9 15s ; good do, L 7 to L 8 ss; small L 5 10s to L 6 10s ; prime cows, L7l Os to LBl7s 6d ; good, L 6 10s to L 7; inferior, L 4 to L 5 10s. • There was no demand for stores, of which 35 were forward. Fat Sheep—l 444 entered. The market was very dull, butchers doing almost nothing, and freezers only buying really prime lines. A good many were passed. Best heavy weight wethers brought 13s 8d to 14s lid; good do, 12s 6d to 18s ; ewes, 9s to 11s. Store sheep—4l3 yarded to a dull market. Small hoggets. 6s to 7s 6d : ewes in lamb, 5s 9d to Bs.
