OE-EPUKI. (From our own correspondent.) I think that to-day (Wednesday) is the first time in the history of Orepuki that Arbor Day has been taken any notice of. Advantage was taken of the occasion to get the school grounds planted with macrocarpa. The work was done by the children, under the supervision of some of their elders. About 200 trees were planted, and as the board fence around the ground forms a good shelter, there should be every chance of their thriving.—The Domain Board has been going in for tree-planting from time to time, and now the Domain has two sides planted with a triple row of trees
(pinus insignia and macrocarpa), w inch are doing'fairly well,, and : will some day be a great ornament to tlie suburbs of Hirstfield. Weather fine, and the spring promises to be very early. Trees are budding and grass springing.
