POLICE COURT.

A sitting of the Court was held before Mr C. E, Rawson, S.M., yesterday. William Patterson and David Arthur , charged with disturbing the

services at tbe Salvation Army Barracks, were severely cautioned and dismissed.

A young man named Charles Archer was charged with assaulting F. W. Schoeder, during a dispute over a hush-felling contract. Fined Is, with costs, £1 19s—a fortnight being give in which to pay. Charles Godfrey was charged, at the instance of Duncan Campbell, ranger, with having cut down trees in Croydon Forest, in contravention of the State Forests Act. The defendant wrote that he was without means to travel with, and hoped he would be dealt with leniently. He was fined 12s, and costs £1 Bs.
