AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.
The J. G. Ward Farmers’ Association of N.Z., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly stock sale at the Invercargill yards on Tuesday. . The entry of fat sheep and cattle was only medium, and best quality brought much better prices than those ruling the last two months. Best fat sheep and wethers brought 13s 3d to 10s 6d —two pens extra fat ewes we sold at 13s 7d, being top price. Lambs at 7s 6d to Bs, were the only store sheep selling ; low conditioned wethers and old ewes not wanted. Best fat bullocks brought up to LlO 10s; medium, L 7 10s to L 9; heifers, L 6 to L 7 ss. Store Cattle—only a small number forward in odd lots, except one lot of about 50 bullocks, which we sold at L 4 18s ; yearlings, 30s ; cows, medium sorts, L 3 10s to L 5. Last week we held two clearing sales of horses, cattle, implements, &c., at Dipton Flat and Lumsden, at both of which we cleared all lots at satisfactory prices. Horse Market—On Saturday our entry was smaller than on the three previous sale days, and the demand dull. Best draughts brought L 26 to L2l; medium sorts, Ll2 to LlB ; hacks are without change in price, and the demand only limited.
