The N. M. and A. Co report as follows of the Invercargill markets of 21st June; — Auction sales are now confined to only a few centres, and entries' in all cases are small. • Lambs- still continue in pretty good demand, as likewise do odd lots, of very forward wethers, although at prices lower than was paid two and three months back. Lqw conditioned wethers' and breeding sheep cannot now be sold unless at about one half value, but no doubt prices will rally with the first approach of Spring.. Even fat sheep are not meeting with the same demand as might be expected, buyers for freezing evidently meaning to be in all cases on the safe side. Cattle are not enquired for, excepting dairy cows, which are likely to be in very active . demand as the season approaches, while even now active enquiries are being made by buyers. Gore sale, Tuesday, 19th inst.—The entry of sheep was small, only about 2000 being yarded. They consisted principally of fat and half fat wethers with a few lots of small low-conditioned 2-tooth sheep, and an odd pen of ewes. The fat and half-fat sheep met a much better market than usual, every lot being sold, although the prices do not allow anything to the vendors for their turnip crop, still having eaten it a sale was bound to be made even at a loss. Best wethers brought 12s; good half-fat do, 10s ; small stores, 5s 8d to 7s 6d. Skin and fat sale.—A good demand exists for all lots forward, heavy-woolled dry skins selling up to 3s each ; green do, 2s 6d to 3s 6d. according to quality, while inferior range, from Is to 2s 3d. Babbitsians of fair quality, to 9Jd per lb. Bough fat, 14s per cwt, Hides, l£d to 2*-d per lb.
