(From our own correspondent). The weather lately has been fine’ but the frost continues very severe. The Licensing Committee met at Queenstown last Friday and granted all the applications set down for hearing. Sergeant Nickle of Queenstown, has been unwell of late, and his place has been temporarily taken by Sergeant McLeod. There is nothing new in mining matters lately, but the Phoenix mine, Skippers, and the Premier mine, Macetown, continue to show signs of improvement. June 4.
