UNITED FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ DEMONSTRATION.
The time for the annual demonstration by our Friendly Societies is once more approaching, and the delegates appointed to carry out the arrangements met in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Monday night. The Shamrock, Rose, and .'Thistle Lodge is represented by Bro. J. S. Goldie, G. Brown, and A. Carnahan; the St. George by Bros. H. Derbie, J. Everett, and Daniel Strang; the Pioneer Lodge by A. Myers, J. McLean, and J. Lewis ; the Court Star of the South by Bros. A. Bloomfield, R. Folley, and J. Sheehan ; the Druids by Bros. W. Styles, G. McDermott, and J. Alswmiler; and the Rechabites by Bros. J. Kissell, J. Fredric, and W. Stead. Bro. Fredric is chairman, Bro. Goldie treasurer, and Bro. Brown secretary. The demonstration will, as usual, take the form of a torchlight procession, concert and ball, to be held about the middle of June, and as the management is in energetic hands, a success in every department may be confidently anticipated.
