The IT. M. and A. Co report of the stock market at the Junction on Tuesday as follows : Fat Cattle —58 head yarded, including some very prime bullocks and cows, but a number only fair stores. Bidding was fairly brisk for good sorts, and these were cleared at about last week’s rates ; best bullocks brought up to L 8 17s 6d ; lighter, L 5 10s to L 7 5s ; prime heifers, L 7 17s 6d to L 8 10s; good, L 5 10s to L 6 15s ; inferior, L 4 to L 5. Fat Sheep—l39o yarded. With no buying for freezing, prices were rather easy. A number of very poor sheep offered did not sell. Best wethers brought up to 12s 9d ; ordinary, 10s 8d to to 12s ; heavy ewes, to 12s for best; ordinary, 9s to 11s, with very poor demand. Store Sheep.—26o7 penned. Prices seemed to improve as the sale w'c.it on, and competition was pretty good for all lots sold; breeding ewes brought 10s —an extra choice lot 12s Id; two-tooth ewes and wethers, 10s to 11s 9d ; 4to 6-tooth wethers (small) 10 s; cull ewes, 2s to 4s; full mouthed, 6s to 8s ; iambs, 4s to 5s for culls, and 8s to 8s 6d for good sorts . Store Cattle. —132 head yarded, mostly small calves. The sale was so protracted that almost all the buyers had left before the cattle came on, consequently a large number •were turned out unsold. Our sales were —Dairy cows at £5 to £6 15s for first class sorts in milk ; others, £3 to £4 17s 6d ; yearlings, 26s ; two-year-olds, 51s; three-year-old, bullocks, L 5 4s. Skin and Fat Sale. —A good entry and active competition. Dry skins (merinos), 3|d to 4d per lb; pelts Is to le 6d for best, and
7d to . lOd for others; damaged 2d to 4d. Hides were in fair demand, but neatly ail to hand were damaged. Hough fat, 14s 6d per cwt. We draw attention to the entry of sheep and cattle for our sale at Mataura, on Thursday next.
