WINTON.
Our brass band gave a successful vrr’ety entertainment a few nights ago in order raisefunds to purchase material for the sewing bee organised in connection with tbe forthcoming land bazaar. In addition to tbe band, under Mr Wyllie, the Misses Dickinson, and Gilmour, and Messrs H. * Coop, J. Hegarty, D. Hurst, J. McWilliam, G. McCormack, R. Lloyd, and M. O’Brien assisted. Misses B. Gilmour, K. Mclnerney,. and Moran played the acccmpanients. A meeting of the A. and P. Society was held on the 3rd, when it was decided to urge upon the new Railway Commissioners the necessity of having four extra trains run" between Invercargill and Winton, viz., from. Winton on Monday and Thursday mornings, and to Winton from Invercargill on the evenings of those days. [Will our correspondents accept our apology for curtailing their letters ?
