WYNDHAM.

The building used b}' the Bank of New Zealand here is being renovated. It would have been more in harmony with the growing importance of the district if the old structure had been removed and one of brick erected. It would have cost little more, and would have looked ever so much better. Improvement is the order of the day in this quarter. New buildings, public and private, are going up, and Wyndham is apparently thriving. We had a visit from Mr W. H. Mathieson the other night, when he gave his lecture on his travels in Britain and America. It was given in aid of the funds of the Presbyterian Sunday School, and he had a good audience. The incidental limelight views, worked by Mr Stewart, were greatly appreciated, and Mr Mathieson’s remarks and vocal selections also took well. Mr Allan presided, and Mr Praser did good service as accompanist.
