DR. HANAN.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The Southland branch of the New Zealand Medical Association Rave just recorded a deserved tribute to the skill and generosity of Dr. Hanan on his retirement from Inver<cargil 1. It may also be said that more than his medical confreres will miss the ability and generosity of Dr. Hanin, He will leave behind him the warm respect and gratitude of many of the poorer people of Invercargill and neighbourhood, the result of large practice and much kindness shown to them during his lengthened stay in this district. He has left us with our regret, and at the same time he has our warmest hopes for improvement in his health in his new location. Yours, etc. Artisan. December 18th.
