TAMING A HORSE.
To be successful (says an exchange) the experimenter must possess certain qualifications. Take horse-castor grated fine, oil of cumin and oil of rhodium, and keep them separate in air-tight bottles. Horsecastor is the wart which grows on the inside of the animal’s leg. Rub a little of the oil ox cumin upon the
hand, and approach the horse on the windward side, so that he can smell the cumin. The horse will let yon come to him without trouble. Rub your hand gently on his nose, getting a little of the oil on ifc. Give him a little of the castor on an apple or a piece of loaf-sugar. Put eight drops of the oil of rhodium in a silver thimble. Hold the thimble between the thumb and middle finger of the right hand, stopping the mouth of the thimble with the forefinger. Open the horse’s mouth, empty the contents of the thimble on his tongue, and he is your servant.
