AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.

The J. G, Ward Farmers’ Association of New Zealand, Ltd., report having held their regular fortnightly sale at the Gore saleyards on Tuesday, the 10th inst, The entry consisted almost entirely of hoggets of fair to medium quality, and the attendance good, with fair demand at prices ranging from fid to Is each better than those ruling at the last sale ; our entry consisted of about 900, which we cleared at the following prices : 219 at 10s 9d ; 220 at 11s 4d to 11s sd; 200 at 9s; 100 at 8s 4d, and other small lots at above quotations. Cattle —Only a small entry forward, but for best milky sorts the demand was good, and prices for dairy cattle ranged from L 5 to L 7, and young cattle from 28s to 40s each; forward steers up to Lsl2s fid, and other lots at above rates. During the week we held a clearing sale on account of Mr J. D. Shepherd, Oteramika. The attendance was large, buyers being present from Orepuki, Pine Bush, Wyndham, . and the surrounding districts. Bidding was brisk, every lot offered sold at full values. Best dairy cows at up to £8 2s fid, medium to good L 5 10s to L 7, aged cows in low condition from 50s to L 4, yearlings 22s fid, to L2 5s for two year olds. Sheep—Ewes with lambs at foot up to 13s 9d, hoggets (medium) to 11s 4d, hoggets and wethers mixed to 10s fid. Horses at Ll 5 10s to L 23. Implements, etc., at satisfactory prices. Thornbury fortnightly sale was held yesterday, when a good entry of both sheep and cattle were penned. The sale was conducted under somewhat unfavourable circumstances, as it rained all day. We sold on account of various vendors as follows : 687 crossbred wethers and maiden ewes at IBs fid ; 105 do do at 10s fid ; 34 do do small at 7s; bullocks up to L 6 Is. Horse Market.—On Saturday we held our annual parade, and sale of stallions afterwards, but the demand was very limited, and only one thoroughbred stallion changed hands during the afternoon. However, we sold Mr Charles McDougall’s favourite Clydesdale colt ‘‘Young Prince,” to Mr T. McMillan, of Gore, at a very satisfactory figure. For our regular weekly horse market we had a fair entry and a good demand for good sorts of draughts, which reached L 36 to L2B; for best medium sorts at Ll 4to LlB. Hacks brought up to Ll 6 for good quality, while aged and inferior were dull of sale.
