Fat Cattle. —110 head were yarded at Burnside on the 4th inst. Best bullocks sold at £lO 5s to £l2 12s 6d ; medium, £7 15s to £9 15s ; light, £5 17s 6d to £7 5s ; cows and heifers, £5 5s to £9 10s. Fat Sheep,. —This week’s supply was very small, only 821 being penned, about 70 of which were merinos. There were only a few pens of ewes, nearly the whole of the sheep yarded being wethers ; but with the exception of two or three pens, the quality was not very good. There was a brisk demand. Prices, however, did not show much advance on last weed’s rates, owing no doubt to several of the larger buyers holding supplies from previous week. Best crossbred wethers sold at 18s 6d to 20s; medium, 15s fid to 17s 9d i ight, 13s to 14s 9d ; crossbred ewes, 15s 9d to 19s; merino wethers, 11s to 12s 3d. Pigs.—The supply numbered 141, and consisted chiefly of store and light bacon pigs. For all descriptions there was a fair demand. Suckers sold at 12s to 13s ; slips, 14s to 15s: stores, 19s to 255; porkers, 26s to 325; baconers, 34s to 46s ; extra heavy, up to 80s. Grain.—Wheat: There is no further improvement of any consequence to note with regard to the tone of the local market. Only to a very small extent, and until .millers’ stocks are further reduced the demand will be only fitful; meantime, however, any sales that are being effected are on the basis of prices quoted last week. Quotations : For best milling velvet and Tuscan, 2s 9d to 2s lid; medium to good, 2s 8d to 2s 9d; inferior to medium, 2s 6d to 2s 7d; broken and thin, 2s 2d to 2s sd; (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms). Oats: Quotations for prime milling, 2s to 2s Id ; best bright feed, short and stout, Is ll£d to 2s ; medium to good, Is lid to Is H 5; inferior to medium, Is 9d to Is lOJd; odd lots of long Tartarian, fit for seed, occasionally fetch 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; (ex store, sacks extra, net).
