EDUCATION LEASES.

The lease of a number of education reserves managed by the Otago School Commissioners, were submitted to competition by Mr George Froggatt on Monday lust. Before bids were invited, the auctioneer cautioned the settlers present not to give more than fair rents, and Mr J. L. McDonald, agent for the Commis-

sioners, spoke to tlie same effect, stating that the Commissioners desired fair rents only. Most of the old tenants got their holdings at the upsets.
