JONES’ SONG-. ■What shall I call my love, my only darling ? How shall I name her best,? I would not use the hackney’d words of others, Common to all the rest. I would not call her “sweet” or “pet” or “dearest”— They have a vulgar tone ; Oh for a name to call my Angelina— Hers, and yet hers alone! It must express a sweetness and a glory Greater than others feel. Is there no name that angel grace expresses Before whose feet I kneel ? Harmony rich, and youth and strength and beauty Must fill its dulcet tones. Oh, hang it, Jones, do stop that caterwauling. And call her —Mrs Joues! ”
