GRAIN REPORT.

Weather since last week has been good—too good for a great many farmers who are running short of feed for stock. Threshing mills have been hard at it, and owing to the roads being in such good condition farmers are enabled to get their grain to the station, consequently deliveries of grain arc still heavy. Business in grain has not been brisk since last writing, and wc do not sec much'chance, of immediate imprpvemcnt. Oats still continue about the same—ls -Id to Is 5d on trucks at country stations, according to' distance from the port. Merchants are buying sparingly, and will not at present advance in price. On the other hand farmers do not care about accepting this low figure,

and a great many hare made up their minds to hold, pending an improvement. Outside markets do not show much sign of advancing, and until they do it is not expected that there will be an improvement here. Wheat.—No change to report. Price, 2s 6d, delivered; sacks, sd. Barley is declining in price, only prime samples being saleable at late quotations. Most maltsters are fully stocked now, and are not very keen about buying unless the sample is prime. Quotations are—Prime malting, 3s 9d to 4s ; medium, to 3s 6d, on trucks. Linseed, £ll on trucks. Byegrass.—Nothing doing. Farmers’ ordinary samples, 2s to 2s 3d; extra clean, 2s 6d to 2s 9d, on trucks. • .
