Miss Brann, Hamilton, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Brann, Stout Street.

Mr Fred Mayne, of the Public Works staff, Waranui, is spending his holidays in Shannon.

The many friends of Mr G. Hook will be pleased to hear he has returned from the Palmerston North hospital.

Mrs Smaile is the guest of her daughter, Mrs J. D. Campbell, Mangaore.

Miss Winnie Fitzgerald, of Shannon, has passed the nurses' final examination at the Wellington public hospital.

Mr H. Hart, superintendent of Public Works, Lake Coleridge, was , a visitor to Mangahao on Friday.

Mrs Hargreaves is spending the holidays with her daughter, Mrs Owen, Mangaore.

Mr and Mrs Fred Hewitt and family are spending their holidays at Waikanae beach.

Mr and Mrs Bass and family left for Campbell's Bay, Auckland, on Saturday to spend the holidays with Mrs Bass' mother.

Mr C. W.' Saggers, of the P.W.D. staff, Mangaore, is spending Christmas in Christehurch and Mr W. J. Coyle in Gisborne.

Misses C. and T. Beere arrived in Shannon from Melbourne on Sunday and are spending the holidays with their parents in Thompson Street.

Mr and Mrs ,H. Hook, Bryce Street, leave at the New Year for a three weeks' tour of the North Island. Their intention is to go north via the East Coast, and return via Rotorua, Tau[;o and Wairaki.
