COVERING BISCUIT TINS.

A CHARMING XMAS GIFT. A particularly . delightful tin for a Christmas' gift, was recently seen, covered in a dainty shade of blue silk, with little ecru lace frills and ruched ribbon. Across the top of the lid ivas fixed a spray of flowers. Another Holder, also covered with taffetas, had tjhe silk over the top of the dover in a way which gave the effect of a large flat flower. This tin was rather shallow and of fair size.

Biscuit holders covered with Japanese silk are also popular. Many are covered plainly with the silk, in a variety of good colours, the edges of the tin being finished with gold galon and often silk or tinsel flower gives a finishing touch to the top of the lid. | Lace trimmed biscuit tins may sound exotic, but they are extremely decorative, and serve a utilitarian purpose without exposing their obvious usefulness, especially in the guest room. One attractive biscuit holde.r, for instance, was covered with gold silk and ornamented with tiny frills of fine Valenciennes lace. Another example had fine frills of ecru lace and the tiniest of pink rosebuds worked into the decoration.
