LEVIN DEFEAT ELTANNON. A nr.teh between teams rep: esenting the Shannon and Levin Tennir Clubs was p ayed at Lcvm on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a win for the Levin team by 12 sets io 4. The following are the details of the games, Levin play, rs being mentioned first: — Men’s Singles.—Warsaw won from Goodwin, 9 —4; Thompson lost to Batt, 4_9; Todd lost to Pope, 3—9; Mackav won from Treggill, 9—4. .Ladies’ Singles.—Miss Warsaw won from Mrs Moynihan, 7—2; Mrs Bennett won from Miss Jones, 7—2; Miss Be van won from Miss Brown, 7 —2; Miss Blenkhorn won from Mrs Miller, 7—o.
Men’s Doubles. —Warsaw and Thompson won from Goodwin and Batt, 9 —B; Todd and Mackav lost to Treggill and Pope, 6 —9. Ladies’ Doubles. —Miss Warsaw and Mrs Bennett won from Mrs Moynihan and Miss Jones 7—-4; Miss Bcvan and Miss Blenkhorn won irom Miss Brown and Mrs Miller, 7—3. Combined Doubles.—Warsaw and Miss*-Warsaw won from Goodwin and Mrs Moynihan 9—4; Thompson and Miss Bcvan lost to Batt and Miss Jones, B—9;8 —9; Todd - and Mrs Benue l x won from Pope and Miss Brown, 9 —2; Mackay and Miss Blenkhorn won from Treggill and Mrs Miller, 9—6. Totals: Levin, 12 sets, 117 games; Shannon, 4 sets, 75 games.
OTAKI v. FOXTON. On Saturday a team of eleven-from the Otaki Tennis Club visited the Foxton courts and after a very pleasant afternoon lost by 9 sets to 13. In the Association match, however, the first four players only, being counted, Otaki won by 109 games to 100. The following are the results of the games, Foxton being mentioned first:— Bryant and Roach beat Murray and O’Rourke, 9—7.
Ross and Cowley lost to Dempsey and Clarry, 2—9.
Woods and McCorkindale beat Bennett and Harper, 9—5. - Misses Perreau and Thompson beat Miss Williams and Mrs. Blake, 9 —5.
Barker and Woods lost to Mrs. Mrs. Dempsey and Miss Simcox, 4 —7. Bryant and Miss Perreau beat Murhay and Miss Williams, 9 —B.
Roach and Miss Bin don lost to O’Rourke and Mrs. Blake, 7 —9. Ross and Miss Barber lost to Dempsey and Mrs. Dempsey, B—9.8 —9. Cowley and Miss Woods beat Clarry 'and Miss Simcox, 9—6.
