BOWLING NOTES.
The final round of the Triangular Shield competition will take place at Foxton on Wednesday. The points at present are: Levin 141, Shannon 103 and Foxton 85. On this occasion Foxton will play four rinks and the other clubs two each. The challenge by the Shannon Club against Palmerston North Club, foi the Gold Stais, which was to have been plaved last Saturday, fell through owing" to Shannon being, unable to get a rink away. On Saturday a rink from Shannon plays a Terrace End rink for the Dixon Cup. The fifth round of the singles championships concluded last evening, when Roach defeated Knowles 23 to H in the A section, thus winning the section In the B section Jones defeated Quarrie 25 to 12 and Whibley defeated Cronquest 23 to 11. In the B grade King /defeated Downes 23 to 13 and Fell defeated Alexander 24 to 13. In tlie next round Jones (two lives) meets Whibley (one life) in the B section, while in the B grade King (two lives) meets Fell (one life),.Downes with one life drawing a bye. The final is to be played before Christmas. The following rink from Shannon will play in the tournameVnt to *be held at Nelson, commencing on New Year’s Day:—Henry, Cronquest, Billman, Clayton (skip).
