HAND-PAINTED LINEN.

Sheets and pillow cases decorated with hand-painted flowers are among the latest ideas. This may sound rather an unpractical notion,- but it has been made possible by the discovery of a medium for painting linen that permits of the article being washed. The exquisite designs are carried out in the softest pastel shades, in some cases a high light is introduced by means of the embroider’s needle. Hand-painted tablecloths have been popular for the last year or so, but these lovely sheets and pillow-casce are only just coming in.
