HOUSEWORK AND YOUR LOOKS
■ How that the average young liou.se'w'ifo has to do the greater part of her own work in the home, there is a battle royal raging between good looks and hard work. The hands and face seem to suffer nioisit; the hands from doing dirty jobs, and the face from cooking—'though feet sometimes get their share of trouble, too!
It is an excellent plan to keep a few domestic beauty aids ready for use in the kitchen, such as some cut lemon and a bottle of vinegar. When the job that stains is clone, rub lemoii or vinegar well into the hands, then wash off. and dry- very carefully. It. is the work of but a minute or two, and the benefit is well worth the little trouble.
Never put the hands into strong sod; 1 water. Tim best plan is I a keep sod:-, solution in a large bottle, and just pom out as wanted; there is much less rid. of using too much. To protect the face use a simple ham' cream, and apply a little after using the vinegar or lemon, should it be necessary to use cither of these every day. 'Pew things are worse for 'the skin than steam and hot air.
