SCHOOL SPORTS.

The local school is holding its sports meeting on Saturday next in the Domain and as this is the first of its kind in Shannon it is hoped that all who can will make an effort to attend as the proceeds will be devoted to the septic-tank fund. A full programme of events has been drawn up, catering for children of all ages. Besides ths usual flat races there will be cycling, jumping, relay, obstacle events as well as others more amusing, such as bun eating, potato relay races, land boat race, thread-needle, and others of an amusing turn. The trustees of the Herbert Smith fund have donated £lO £los worth of silver cups to be competed for and no doubt these will be keenly contested events during the day. In order to make it possible for most people to attend the sports will not commence until 2 p.m.
