FLETCHER SHIELD. The four rinks from Shannon were unsuccessful in their challenge on Sat; unlay to win the Fletcher Shield from the Palmerston North Club, being defeated in the aggregate by 101 points to 81. The games were contested in a heavy wind which played havoc with the skill of the players. Crump’s rink managed on one head to score seven points. Following are the scores: — Bettle, Rowling, Tremaine, Fraser (s) 21, beat Alexander, Baxter/ .Tones, Quarrie (s) 19. Usmar, Brookie, Plank, Brown (s) 29 beat Henrv, King, Butt, Roach (s) 17.
Warden, Law, Stephenson, Spencer (s) 27 beat Grey, Mark, Cronquest, Morgan 18. liowley, Procter, Rabone, Crump (s; 24, lost to Blackwood, Hudson, C. Hook, Bovis (s) 27.
