OBITUARY.

MR HECTOR ,T. BARTHOLOMEW.

The death occurred at the residence of his parents, Mr and Mrs George Bartholomew, Kimbolton Road, Feilding, on Tuesday afternoon, of Hector, the youngest son. The late Mr Bartholomew was a member of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand at Takaka, [ Nelson. He was for some time on the I staff of the Bank of New Zealand at Shannon, and Was well known in this I district, where he ma<Ce many friends, to whom the news of his death came as a shock. He had been suffering 'indifferent health for the past three years and arrived home some few days ago on extended sick leave. well-known in Feilding and district, and after completing his schooling joined the Feilding branch of the bank. He saw service during the Great War and on returning rejoined the bank, in which service he displayed marked ability. For a brief period he went farming, to once more return to the banking profession, and it was after this that ill-health began to manifest itself. He was a popular young man and an enthusiastic sportsman, being a keen cricketer, footballer and tennis player, and his passing comes as a distinct shock to a wide circle of friends and relatives. To Mr and Mrs Bartholomew and family much sympathy will be extended in their very sad bereavement.
