BOWLING.

Two Shannon rinks visited Palmerston North on Wednesday when they were unsuccessful in securing the coveted Ainslie Shield from the Manawatu Club. The rink, skipped by Mason, and including Brann, H. Hook, and C. Grey, tie'd s with a score of 22 all after an 'exiting game. Bovis's rink, consisting of Aim, Hyde and 'Clayton, suffered defeat by 24 points to 12. To-morrow afternoon G. Quarrie's rink, who are the holders of the Kinneberg Feathers, will defend a challenge by an Otaki rink skipped by J. Murray.
