WEDDING BELLS.
JAMES—LANGABEER. A wedding of considerable interest took place at Knox Presbyterian' Church, Dannevirke, on Wednesday, October 30th, the Rev. J. T. Macky bcing the celebrant, when Reita, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs 11. Langabeer, of Matamau, was married to Douglas Ronald James, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. James, "Glenmore," Kingston Road, Shannon. The churcu was prettily decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride who was robed in a dress of ivory mariette, with flounces on the skirt and head trimmings and orange blossoms on the shoulder. She wore a long veil of embroidered silk tulle which formed a train and was arranged with a dainty coronet of orange blossoms. Shoes and stockings to tone were worn, also a valuable string of pearls. The bride carried a handsome bouquet of ranunculus, heather, freesias, and "dainty fern with satin streamers. -The chief bridesmaid was Miss Zena Langabeer, only sister of the bride, who wore a mushroom beige flounced frock of georgette and lace. Miss Phyllis James wore a salnron. pink flounced georgette frock, and Miss Linda Jamts (both sisters of bridegroom) wore a mauve flounced georgette frock. Pretty capeline straw hats with streamers were worn. Two little flowers 'girls, Joyca Wyatt, wearing a frilled frock of powder blue georgette and Rene Hansen attired in jade green georgette with pretty tulle caps and streamers, both carried baskets of flowers. Mr Harry James, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man and Mr Noel James, of Linton, (counsin of the bridegroom), and Mr Jack Irwin of Tokomaru (cousin of the bride), were groomsmen. The bride was given away by her father. Miss Thorburn presided at the organ. As the bride left the church little Alison Pederson presented her with a satin covered kori?e-shoe for good luck After the ceremony a reception was held at the Arcadia tea rooms, a ; large number of guests being present. The bride's mother was attired in a rever sible satin with pink pleated front and black satin coat and hat trimmed with osprey and carried a posy of tulips, ranunculus and fern. The bridegroom's mother wore a pretty dress of cornflour blue crepe-de-chene with hat to match and carried a posy of Argentine sweet peas, lilac and fern. The bridegroom 's present to the bride was a fox fur, to the bridesmaids rhinestone necklets and to the flower girls pearl necklets. The .bride travelled in a ? champagne georgette frock with radium lace oVerskirt and fawn coat, hat, shoes and stockings to match. The happy couple left later by car for New Plymouth where the honeymoon w T ill be spent. They were the recipients of many handsome presents including several cheques and a handsome fur coat for the bride. Their future home will be at Kingston Road, Shannon.
