ZONOPHONE.
Zonophone Gems. The 'Black Diamonds Band has rerecorded "In a Clockmaker's Shop" and <'The Whistler and His Dog" (5247). The Emerald Quartet has grouped four fascinating Irish dance tunes, ''Looford Lassies''and ''Swallows' Tails" (reels) and "Sweeney's Favourite" and "Limerick Boys" (jigs) on to one record. There is the swing of an Irish fair in these pieces. (5136). Two songs from the motion picture, "Noah's Ark,." are sweetly sung by Paul Qliver, a tenor, who is assisted .by a splendaid orchestra. They are "Old Timer" and "Heart o' Mine" (8E149). A clever comedian with a good voice, Edie Oantor, gets in with two songs of the day, "I'm Wild About Horns on Automobiles" and "I, Faw Down an.' go Boom." (EEl46}. These Victoria Trio, accordion, banjo, and string bass, play "The Prince Waltz" and a polka, "La Sorella." This combination of instruments is most pleasing and they have chosen suitable numbers (A 343). Charles Williams, a violinist, with, a Wurlitzer organ accompaniment, plays the intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rsticana" and "Annie Laurie." The tone colouring .is very artistic. (5280)'. Irish Songs.
The Irish tenor, Colin O'More has just issued two Irish songs "Danny Boy," which is a setting of the popular "Londonderry Air." O'More has the sympathetic quality of voice char- • acteristic of Irish singers, who include McCormack and Margaret Sheridan. ' His other number is an. old air, '' Kitty of Colerainc.'' The charm of this piece is infinite. (Zonophone 5192).
