FARMING INTERESTS.
REPRESENTATION ON DEFENCE COMMITTEE. There were present at the meeting of the Manawatu provincial executive of the Farmers' Union in Palmerstoa North oil Saturday, Messrs O. P. Lynch (Paraparaumu) chairman, C Jense* (Te Horo), J. Gloyn (Eongotea), H. Bowling (Manakau), A. G-. Dear (Eongotea), B. G. Gower (Foxton), F. Maul (Palmerston North), J. Balsillie (Palmerstoa North), H. Denton (Levin), H. McLeavey (Ohau), H. Bond (Eangiotu) and J. T. Kent (Waikanae). 'The secretary (Mr Budden) was instructed to write the Sheepowners' Federation to the effect that the executive Avas dissatisfied with its representation on the federation since the division of the old Wellington provincial district. It Avas suggested that tne Wanganui, Wellington Central aad ManaAvatu districts should elect their own representatives at the annual meeting and that these should constitute the representatives of the Wellington Defence committee. It was also decided to ask the chairman of fl*e defence committee (Mr Dalrymple) U bring the matter before the federatioa with the AdeAV to its adoption.
