JERSEY SALE.
BULLS BRING FAIR PRICES. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., conducted the seventh annual Manawatu bull and heifer sale at the Palmerston North showgrounds yesterday when there was a large attendance of district buyers and several from outside including Waikato and Canterbury.
. At a preliminary judging competition where Mr C. G. C. Dermc-r officiated, tlio championship was awarded to Milk Be van’s (Manakau) Springburn Hero which was subsequently bought in by the owner at 40 guineas. Reserve championship was awarded Mr P. A. Aiidarson’s (Levin) Tararua CSvalier which sold at 40 guineas. In the open class first prize was awarded Mr R. Bevan’s Nikau Noi Joker and second prize to Mr P. A. Anderson’s Tararua Renown. The reserve champion was also adjudged the best yearling with Mr Anderson’s Tararua Gay Lad second. 1 v Among the prices and purchasers were the following, all the animals being bulls unless otherwise mentioned:—
