MAORILAND THEATRE.
"PLUNGING HOOFS." To-morrow night, "Plunging Hoofs" will be screened, in which Rex, one of the greatest animal stars in motion pictures, is seen in the role of a wild horse whose home is the Western country. He is caught in a trap, but is set fvee by a young parson and a dance hall girl. Later, when they are in trouble, as a result of the, conniving of the owner of the dance hall, Rex comes to their aid. It is a welltold story that will appeal with its fine romance and action. The role of the parson is played by Jack Perrin, hero of "Wild Beauty," "The Harvest of Hate," "Wild Blood," "Hoofbeats of Vengeance," and other Rex pictures. Starlight, the wonder horse, owned bv Perrin, also plays a featured role. Others, in the cast are Barbara Worth, J. P. MeGowaix and David Dunbar. Plunging Hoofs is from a story by Basil Dickey and William Lord Wright and was directed by Henry Macßae.
"THE LILY OF KILLARNEY." This pietuie is the screen version of Dion Boucicault's famous stage play, "Colleen Bawn." In the serene splendour of Killarr.ey lies Tore Cregan, ancient home of the Cregans, and i* heavily in debt to the rascally mortgagee, Corrigan. To prevent foreclosure, Mrs Cregan' s only hope is to marry her son Hardress to Anne Chute, a "wealthy heiress. Close at hand, lives Eily O'Connor, known as the beautiful Lily of Killarney. Unbeknown to his mother and friends, Hardress loved and secretly married Eily. Danny th-3 dwarf, a faithful retainer of the Cregans, craftily thinking that Eily is causing trouble for Widow Cregan, kidnaps her 'and, rowing across the lake, tries to murder her. She is found by a poacher who takes earc of her. The guilt falls, upon Hardress, and he is arrested. Luckily, Father Tom, the Priest, overhearing a confession from. Dannv, is able to clear up the mystery, and Eilv and Hardress are rc-united and happiness once more reigns supreme.
