At the weekly stock sale at Levin Tuesday, Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., offered a good yarding of cattle, a fair entry of pigs and a smaller one of sheep to a large attendance of the public. They report the following range of prices:— Sheep.—Black-faced hog-gets 9s to 23s 9d, ewe hoggets 15s 9d to 19s. Cattle.—Eat cows £5 15s to £9 ss, fat beifer £7, fat steer £l2 17s 6d; a line of 21 yearling Jersey heifers brought <£s 2s; other heifers, £6 Is; "heifers just calved/, £8 to £9 15s; a line of eight springing heifers, £l3 12s (id; potter bulls, 30s to £6 10s. Pigs.—Stores 18s to 29 s od, weaners 10s to 15s, slips 22s to 245, porkers £1 15s Gd to £3 Is.
N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that, at the Levin yards, on Tuesday, they offered a small entry of sheep and cattle and a good /yarding of pigs to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was good, and a total clearance was made. They quote as under: — Sheep.—Fat wethers 365, medium ewe hoggets 30s 6d, medium wether hoggets 23s Bd. Cattle.—Medium fat Jersey cows £6 to £6 13s, forward conditioned cows £4 10s to £5 os, store do. £3 10s to £4, small yearling steers £3 Is 6d, yearling Jersey heifer £O, potter bulls £4 7s (3d to £6, good quality Jersey springing keifers £l3 5s to £ls 10s,. ordinary dairy cows £6 10s to £lO 10s. .Pigs.—Light porkers £2 to £2 14s 6d, sows to farrow £3 to £3 10s, stores 18s to 27s tid, weaners 10s to 17s.
