Star Girl, a five-year-old filly by Day Cotnet from Waiaroka, who won the Novice Stakes at the last Foxton meeting, has until recently been spelling at Foxton. She is now being hacked about the roads at Shannon, preparatory to being put inlo work again. Additions to Local Tdam.

E. T. Yuile, of Levin, has leased from her breeder, Mrs A. F. Lawry, of Gisbome, the two-year-old filly by Hunting Song—Trcbelli. She is a halfsister to Will Oakland, Finora, Finella, and other speedy gallopers. The local mentor has also taken in hand an Acre two-year-old and another of the same age "by Manchineel. Both are owned by Shannon, sportsmen.

Locarno Amiss. Locarno, who broke down at Grand National meeting, is in a bad way, a wrenched joint making it very doubtful whether this magnificent jumper .will ever race again. Time may, however, effect a remedy. Sires Represented in; N.Z. Cup. In the sixty-six nominations received for the New Zealand Cup, no less than 39 sires are represented. Kilbroney has the biggest representation with five iii the field, the most notable one being last year's winner, Oratrix. Single entries are credited to Panmure, King Mark, Archery, Auttimnus, Nassau, Bisogue, Autumn, Feramorz, Tractor, Poltava, Grandcourt, Boniform, Antagonist, Campfire, Magpie, Clarenceux,Acre, Duke Humphrey". Hunting Song, Lord Quex and Quantock. _____
