NUCLEUS OF BIG -CONCERN.

Settlers on the 'fertile Malcerua plains are to have a dairy factory of their own within the next 12 months. Negotiations for the formation of a company have been completed and registration is at present being effected. - When operations commence it will be on a basis of 150 tons of cheese per annum —quite a moderate output—but those who know of the potentialities of ■ the thousands of acres of the Makerua % swamp lands realise that this factory will in time grow into one of the largest concerns in the Dominion. The provisional, directors are Messrs R. Southee (chairman), W. Claridge, S. H. Claridge, J. A. MacEachen, F. C. Wooffindin, W. B. Scanlon and L. N. Unstead.
