OLD RESIDENT DIES SUDDENLY

Mr Richard Walter Keeys, aged 78, who had lived in Levin for many years, died suddenly yesterday, at the cottage where he resided alone, m Queenwood Road. A friend, Mr John Hooper, who had been in the habit or visiting him every few days, called_ at the dwelling this morning, and, getting no response to his inquiry at the door walked in to find Mr Keeys lying dead en the floor beside the table, where he had evidently commenced his _ breakfast. The deceased had complained at times of heart trouble, but had not been under a doctor's care of late, and an inquest will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow. The deceased leaves three sons, of whom one is Mr Alfred Keeys. of Palmcrston North, the others residing at Auckland and Rata.
