Durin the course of his remarks Mr Hickso said that faith was absolutely neces sajryr—faith in the power of Chris and' God—'before a cure in His Nam can be .effected. Another importan thought uttered was that this power°t heal was available to every Christian It was a sin, he said, not to use ttii power from <Jod in a time like /thi when we could see suffering and paii all round. The lack of faith abound ing to-day, he attributed to thewronj idea so wide spread, that God was ; God of fear and wrath, instead of th truth, taught by Jesus, that Godi Love. "God does not punish peopl by sickness," said he, "it is due gep erally to their neglect and sin or pe'r haps to that of their fathers. It is th work of the devil—not of God.' •' Th cause however, was not important. Th vital thing was that Christians had tin power to alleviate suffering.
