GOLF NOTES.
The return match with the Ma watu Club was played on the Shan: •links on Saturday afternoon. ' weather was ideal and the course fair order, bf big. rather dead with v little run. The ladies provided air enjoyable afternoon tea and were warded with three hearty cheers- fl the players. The match finished square. Details of the play, Ma watu players being mentioned first Upham lost to Goodwin. Winks halved with McKenzie.
Tom Stubbs beat A. Saxon. Spear (capt.) lost to Morgan. Petre halved with G. Stern. J. P. Stubbs beat H. Saxon. Spencer lost to Jones' (capt.) Goldingham beat Campbell. MacPherson beat King. Field lost to H. Stern. Swinbourne beat Stevenson. Dr. Yeates beat Blackwood. Billens lost to T-regurtha. Manawatu 6 wins, Shannon 6 \vi two games being halved.
