METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.
PRIZEGIVING AND CONCERT,
The annual prize giving and concert of the scholars attending the Methodist Sundav School was held in the Parish 'Hall, *on Wednesday evening, there being a good attendance of scholars and parents. Before the gathering took place a tea was held at six o’clock when a bountiful supply of good things was done full justice to by the children.
A lengthy programme was submitted at the concert which proved Very enjoyable, all the items being well received. The following are those who contributed items: —Pianforte duet, Misses A. Aim and V. Quarrie; song, Mrs Riches; recitation, Miss E. Swim dlehurst; song, Miss S. Quarrie; recitation, Stuart Hyde; instrumental trio, Misses Aim, Ingloy and Thomson; recitation, Doris Tremewan; song Mrs Gibson; recitation, Annie Dorset; monologue, Miss Astridge; recitation, Ada Dorset; song, Mrs Oronquest; recitation, Miss Y. Quarrie; song, Mr Cron'quest. At the’conclusion of the concert Mr T. F. Gibson, of Levin, presented the prizes, the following awards being made: — Senior Glass:—lst' G. Ingley, 2nd J. Quarrie, 3rd A. Ilansman, 4th D. Tremewan. Intermediate—lst M. ilansman, 2nd V. Brassington, 3rd T. Inglcv, 4th S. Hyde. n Junior.—lst T. Veal, 2nd I. Veal, 3m F. Tremewan, 4th K. Thomson, sth 11. Booker.
Infant Girls.—lst M. Hook, 2nd L. Wilkinson, 3rd V. Young, 4th J. McSaveny, sth A. liermansson. Infant Boys.—lst R. Veal, 2nd S. Tremewan, 3rd J. Young. Highest Attendance.—lst (equal) J. Ingley and M. Ilansman; 2nd (equal), A. Hairsman and V. Brassington; 3rd (equal), T. and I. Veal. Special Prize for Tablet Work.—V. Brassington. Young Worshippers’ League. —Ist J. Ingley, 2nd R. Blackbourne, 3rd (equal), V.° Bowker and D. Ingley. The teachers desire to thank all avlig so kindly assisted in making the anniversary tea and concert such a •success.
