HOROWHENUA RUGBY DISTRICT COUNCIL.

LAST NIGHT'S MEETING. , The weekly meeting of the Hore- ' whenua Rugby District Council was held last evening. Present: Messrs W. C. Hannan (chairman), J. W. Procter, A. Richards,G. Mitchell, W. G. Phillips, S. Hooper, J. Casey (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. McGill, H. G. McDonald and J. W. Rimmer. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs W. Ileyes and P. Robinson, who were unable to attend owing to the flooded conditions of the road. ' CLASSIFICATION OF PLAYERS.

A telegram was received from th* Te Kawa Sab-Union, as follows: “Jim and Jack Young classified junior, never played senior.” The Secretary reported having interviewed the Youngs at Shannon. They stated that they had played for Huia once last season and once the season before.

As some doubt still existed as to their, status the Secretary was instruced to write to the Tokomaru Football Club setting out the position and advising the Club not to play them until a decision was reached.

The Secretary was also instructed to write to the Te Kawa Sub Union asking if the Youngs classified themselves juniors by playing more than two junior game 3 or whether they were classified by their classification officer. He is also to write to the Huia Football Club asking for particulars of their status in that Club. SUBSIDISING BUSES. The action of the President and Sec-, retary in subsidising the buses carrying teams that had to travel via Shannon to Foxton from Levin was corn firmed.

WRONG JERSEYS

It was decided on the motion of Mr Hannan, seconded by Mr Procter that the Hui Mai Club be fined 5s for permitting two wrongly-coloured jersey 3 to be used, in the junior game against Waikanae on Saturday. NOTICE OF MOTION. ■Mr Hannan gave notice to rescind the motion setting down the MaoriPakcha match for the sth June and to move that ifc be played on 12th June. FIXTURES AND REFEREES FOR SATURDAY.
