SHANNON v. NORTHERN. On Saturday three rinks from Shannon paid a return visit to Northern (Palmerston North) when enjoyable games were played, the Shannon rinks being defeated by 69 to 60. Scores were as follow, Shannon -rinks being mentioned first: — Baxter, Knowles, Jones (s) beat Saunders, Kirk, Bryan, Stiles (8) 21—17. Andrew, Roach, Quarrie (s) beat Eliott, Thirtle, Teale (s) 25—17. McLaggan, Franks, Aim, Whibley (s) lost to Dickel, McKee, Lai-comb, Stuart (s) 14—35. Shannon was represented in the Manawatu Pairs played at Palmerston North on Saturday by C. Hook and A H. Morgan. In the first round they won their game against Simpson and Chappell (Oroua) by 25 to 16, but playing in the second round against J. W. Smith and J. Grant (Terrace End) were defeated by 21 to 17.
