JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.
ANNUAL MEETING OP ASSOCIATION. The Palmerston North branch of the Honorary Justices' Association held its annual meeting at the Court house on Wednesday. Mr. J. H. Stevens in the chair. The following remits are to be forwarded for inclusion in the agenda of the federated Association of Justices which meets at New Plymouth in March:— (1) That special efforts be made by each branch to increase its membership to 75 per cent, of the total toII of Justices. (2) That medallions in the possession of Justices who have ceased to be members of the Association bo recovered. (3) That for the convenience of the public, steps be taken to have the roll of local Justices published in the telephone directory, or that the letters " J.P."' be added to the names of those Justices who are also telephone subscribers. (-1) That each recognised branch of the Association be entitled to 25 per cent, of its contributions from local members. Mr. J. H. Stevens was re-appointed president of the local association of which 42 members are enrolled.
