MONEY STILL TIGHT BUT POWER BOARD IS SATISFIED. Despite the assurances of politicians and financial experts that the Dominian has “turned the corner,’ ’ the average trader finds the money market as constricted as it was last year. One suggested cause is the high price of stock, which is absorbing the credits of fanners. Passing reference to this was made at Tuesday’s meeting of the Ilorowhenua Power (Board. ' The Chairman (Mr G. A. Monk) said the Board’s financial (position could be sumed up in one word. It was satisfactory. Generally speaking the collection of installation accounts thi3 year had been satisfactory though there were some accounts they would like to see reduced. Mr W. E. Barfber remarked that the improvement was a sign of the better financial conditions. The Chairman: I understand that these good times we are supposed to be having are not a bit of good to the tradespeople.' These high prices are no good to them. There seems to be too much money locked up, though there must be some of it about.
