SHANNON v. NORTHERN.

On Saturday afternoon the Shannon Club received a visit from four rinks from the Northern Club, Palmerston North. Enjoyable games were played, the local Club securing a victory over the visitors by winning three games out of the four, the aggregate number of points scored being 93 against the visitors’ 61. At the conclusion of the afternoon’s play, Mr M. Eliott, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the local Club for the pleasant afternoon and the hospitality shown them, also the ladies of the Croquet Club who provided afternoon tea, whom they cheered. The president, Mr A. H. Morgan, briefly returned thanks, stating that a return visit would be paid on Saturday week. Following are the scores, the Shannon rinks' being mentioned first: —.
