OUTBREAKS IN BRITAIN. MANY DEATHS. (Published in the “Daily Mail.”) LONDON, January 29. There has been a sudden increase in cases of influenza, in schools and among the public, in three widely-separated London districts — Poplar, and Marylebone. There have been 62 deaths out of 400 admissions to Walton Hospital in the last nine days, and 57 member;, of the hospital staff are ill. Four doctors of the London County Council’s Public Health Department and many other employees, are absent The epidemic is more severe in Liverpool, where it is supposed to have come from American shipping.
