THREE EDITORS ARRESTED,
SHANGHAI, Nov. 23
Disaster has befallen three editors of a Cantonese paper known as the Yin Cheung Po. In describing a race for officials held at the Kuantung.provincial athletic meeting the, journal stated that General Wong Shiu-huug, head of the Kuangsi Government, ran “ignobly” and that the Commissioner V Education, who also took part in the race,, was “handicapped by an abundance of flesh accumulated through a perferenee for study over exercise.”' The report also contained reference to “beefy thighs and runnings shorts” in respect to other contestants.' The article appeared in the Saturday morning edition of the paper; on the following Tuesday the three editors responsible for the report were invited to partake of some refreshments in a restaurant by a man who stated that he wished to avail'himself of their great influence in publishing a small magazine. On leaving the restaurant the B editors were arrested by a squad of detectives and detained im custody, bail being absolutely refused. About 10 o’clock the same night, while the staff were engaged on the work of bringing out the next morning’s issue, the police visited the paper's premises and announced that the publication "of the paper was pro hiibit-ed for 15 days as a punishment.
