THE WOMAN WHO IS FOND OF KNITTING
Many women were very sorry when the fashion for jumpers in knitted silk at last died. They got great enjoyment out of knitting pretty jump ers in dainty coloured silks. Tbev need not despair, however, for knitted "wpollies" are .as popular as ever. Plain, nicely-knitted"" sweaters, pullovers :md cardigans are still worn by men, woman and children. Fair Isle patterns give opportunities to the exDerionced knitter to show her skill, but jumpers and cardigans in a neutral colour or brown Shetland won], adorned with little clusters of wool embroidery, are newer and very pretty. The women who carf knit socks and golfstockings really well will always have her handiwork appreciated by her husband, for not only do they wear longer and are warmer, but it is possible to got really good matches with tweeds, so that a man's stockings, if homc-knittctl, stand a very good chance of matching his plus fours. The wool of course, must be good and soft. Children may be most suitably clad from head to foot in knitted clothes, so here are splendid opportunities for the woman who is fond of knitting. The modern baby quickly loaves his long clothes off, and is clad in the freer, more hygienic garments of soft knitted wool, and the toddler is generally dressed in a complete suit of wool.
